Consultancy

I have worked as a researcher, writer, editor or speaker for a wide range of government, corporate and civil society clients, from the British Ministry of Defence and Australian Federal Police to Greenpeace International.
I am uniquely able to move between the public, private and voluntary sectors, as comfortable working with government officials, serving soldiers or business leaders as I am with academics, journalists or campaigners.

This is reflected in my writing style, which ranges from balanced and objective to deliberately polemical, depending on the message, publication and readership. As such, I have had articles commissioned by publications as diverse as Jane's Intelligence Review and New Internationalist. I am particularly skilled at clearly drawing out the linkages between seemingly disparate issues and in setting out radical and challenging analysis and proposals in ways that both policymakers and the general public can actually listen to them. I am also a confident and engaging public speaker, having addressed audiences from many different backgrounds and from half a dozen to several hundred people.

The professional reputation measurement service PROskore ranks me #1 in London for fundraising, #3 for writing and editing, #4 for project management and #9 for business development. Overall, I am ranked #32 in London out of 2,200 rated professionals across all industries and my professional reputation score is 60% above the global average. I also had one of the top 5% most viewed LinkedIn profiles during 2012 (out of 200 million members).
